about
Eraserhead (1977) is a film written, directed, produced and edited by David Lynch. Particularly esteemed for its musical score and sound design, there is much to take note of for anybody interested in sound experimentation.
The song, In Heaven is featured in The Lady in the Radiator scene and begins with an eerily breezy soundscape which quickly turns to a carnival-esque score drawing the audience into an intimate, sweetly sung rendition of the song which both touches your heart and raises the little hairs on the back of your neck.
I coupled live recorded vocals and Korg KaossPad white noise with slowed down carnival music loops and reverb to create a distant feeling. This was a very interesting little project from which I learned a lot and have come to appreciate even more the genius of David Lynch's compositions and concepts.
